2015 Third Quarter Edition
Quarterly Update from the IAC

I hope everyone is enjoying our summer season, I know for me and my family it is an enjoyable time of year. The pace is a bit slower and life is a little calmer. Sometimes markets take vacations also, and maybe that is what has happened over the last few months.

TFEC Properties, Inc. Mixer

A reception was held on June 3 for the Advisory Committee of TFEC Properties, Inc., a 501(c)(2) title holding company that supports The Foundation for Enhancing Communities. The reception provided valuable networking opportunities and presentations from those on the committee, in addition to discussion on some of the benefits and opportunities TFEC Properties, Inc. can provide as another giving option.

TFEC Properties, Inc. can facilitate for gifts of real estate and provide management of real estate for the benefit of other nonprofit organizations. Not only would this group be able to handle real estate transactions relating to the TFEC funds, but it could also be the holding entity for donations to benefit other qualified nonprofit organizations. TFEC Properties, Inc. is able to oversee, analyze and manage properties making a donation of real estate easy. Additionally, donors can be rest assured that their gift will be handled properly by TFEC's professional knowledge and skill in inspections, analysis of studies and reports, and the leasing or sale of the property. Nonprofit organizations that are to receive the economic benefits of gifted real estate can rely on TFEC Properties, Inc. to hold and manage those properties for the benefit of the nonprofit organization.

TFEC Properties, Inc. will be working with professional advisors, donors and nonprofit organizations to educate them on this new philanthropic opportunity.

Keeping it in the Family

There are many ways to give and unlike many misconceptions about philanthropic endeavors, you don't have to have a lot of money to make an impact. That is why many community foundations are encouraging citizens to take an active role in charitable giving through involving their whole family.

Be a Part of Our Legacy
Do you have any clients that have made planned gifts to TFEC? Often these gifts are deferred based upon personal estate planning and the income needs of the donor. Even though gifts might be deferred, the gifts could have immediate tax benefits. Deferred gifts include bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable annuity remainder trust, charitable lead trusts and real estate with retained life interest. Donors who make a planned gift or remember TFEC in their wills are invited to become members of our 1920 Legacy Society. Let us know if a client of yours would like to be in our 1920 Legacy Society by emailing info@tfec.org! We would like to celebrate them in their lifetime, if so desired.
