$289,910 funds awarded to the community since the inception of the COVID-19 Community Response Fund!
HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 9, 2021) – With vaccines, summertime, and warm weather on the horizon, it can sometimes feel like a return to normalcy, but COVID-19 continues to impact members of our community. In its second round of grantmaking in 2021, the COVID-19 Community Response Fund granted $15,900 in emergency funds to seven nonprofit organizations responding to the spread of COVID-19 within Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and Northern York (Dillsburg) Counties.
The COVID-19 Community Response Fund has awarded 128 grants totaling $289,910 through 11 total rounds of grantmaking to 95 nonprofits within Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and Northern York (Dillsburg) Counties since its inception in March 2020.
“Even with the rollout of vaccinations in Pennsylvania, these grants are still necessary to support nonprofits providing essential services,” says Janice Black, President & CEO of TFEC. “Funds allow these organizations to continue to serve the community and comply with CDC guidelines by providing them with necessary equipment including PPE, masks, gloves, and disinfecting products.”

- Camp Hill Presbyterian Church
- Cathedral Church of St. Stephen
- Community CARES
- Jewish Family Service of Greater Harrisburg, Inc.
- JFT Recovery and Veterans Support Services
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA
- The Campus of the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg
“Thanks to TFEC, 156 Mission Central Care Kits (hygiene items) went out to local area school district students in Cumberland County,” said Stephanie Titzel, Director of Development and Communications for Mission Central. “These assisted in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and ensured students were able to work remotely.”
This grant opportunity is available to long-standing nonprofit organizations in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and Northern York Counties that respond to the spread of COVID-19 and are experiencing financial challenges by doing so, and which meet the grant guidelines posted at www.tfec.org.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the crisis. Applicants who are awarded funds must wait 30 days before submitting a new application. Applicants who are not awarded funds may apply again upon receiving notification of denial. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; awarded funds may be utilized upon receipt.
