Shaping the Future of Women & Girls

Empowering women drives transformative change in society. Nonprofits play a crucial role by offering essential services and advocating for social progress. Organizations focused on women and girls tackle unique challenges and create safe spaces. At TFEC, we partner with these nonprofits to build a brighter, equitable future for generations to come.

  • The Fund for Women and Girls has broadened awareness of and responded to issues affecting women and girls through the power of collective philanthropy.
  • Since 2008, over $576,000 in charitable grants have been given to support local nonprofits. These grant programs have previously served over 17,000 women within our region.
  • Below is a small sample of the community impact:
    • Eradicating diaper need and period poverty
    • Delivering essential primary health care to uninsured women with low household income
    • Ending homelessness for single mothers and their children
    • Providing free mammograms to uninsured women and
    • Empowering local programs that address the evolving social, physical, and mental health needs of girls
  • Nonprofits working on the front lines serve women and girls with remarkable dedication every day, yet they require our collaborative support.
  • Our initiative moves beyond the grant check and equips grantees with the necessary resources to continue their vital programming.
  • Founded in 2000, the Fund for Women & Girls set a powerful foundation. In 2011, The Dream Team emerged, inspiring individuals to contribute a minimum of $1,000 to build a lasting $1 million endowment. Through our collective philanthropy, this endowment creates a timeless legacy of support for local nonprofit organizations dedicated to uplifting women and girls in South Central PA’s Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry and Dillsburg regions.
  • Together, we envision a vibrant community where every woman and girl has the right to live safely, meet their essential needs, pursue their dreams, and harness the transformative power of philanthropy.

Reaching the $1 Million Endowment Goal

We have made remarkable progress toward our $1 million permanent endowment. With only $250,000 remaining, we stand on the brink of a monumental achievement: becoming One Million Strong. Endowments empower donors and nonprofits to create a stable funding source and invest in a brighter future for women and girls. Together, we can achieve this dream and stand One Million Strong.
