I Want You to Hear Me

Beginning the Conversation about Suicide and Prevention

This event is focused on sharing information and easy to read visuals about suicide awareness. It will encourage participants to begin a conversation on suicide and learn how to reach out to friends, family or loved ones in a way that is both nurturing and effective. The information that will be presented is designed to be understood by children as young as 12. We encourage parents and adults to participate as well.

About the Presenter

We are excited to have Alexa Moody, Executive Director and Founder of “Please Live” as our presenter. Alexa shares her own story on depression and thoughts of suicide as a teenager. After her recovery, she dedicated her efforts to “Please Live” a nonprofit that is creating effective programs. The program focuses on real and practical ways that students can assess their peers for signs and symptoms of a problem, how to intervene, and how to get help for themselves or a friend.
