Criteria
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Graduating seniors from any high school in Cumberland, Dauphin, or Perry counties OR current college students with permanent residences in Cumberland, Dauphin, or Perry county
- Plans to attend college for the study of math, science, or engineering
- Leadership/community service
- Character
- Academic performance, including a GPA between a 2.5 and 3.5 (this scholarship is not intended for the student with the highest GPA, but rather to the student with average grades who demonstrates motivation, character, ability, and potential)
- Financial need
- Essay
- Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.
Essay
Describe your biggest life challenge and what you learned from the experience. Essay should be titled, 300 words maximum.
Renewability
Recipients of this scholarship may reapply for additional consecutive years. Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.
