Charles Shields Scholarship Fund
The Mechanicsburg Area School Board and the Professional Staff of The Mechanicsburg Area School District to honor Charles E. Shields Superintendent of Schools established the Charles E. Shields Scholarship Fund. Mr. Shields served the school district with distinction for thirty-seven years from 1949 to 1986. He was a science teacher for five years and an administrator for 32 years. The last 22 years of his tenure were as Superintendent of Schools. His dedication, integrity, inspiring leadership, standards of excellence, and compassionate qualities, helped to make The Mechanicsburg Area School District an Outstanding Educational Institution.
This scholarship is a restricted scholarship and has no application. The recipient of this scholarship is selected by a predetermined set a criteria that was created by the donor(s) that established this scholarship.
