Criteria
- Graduating seniors of Hershey High School or Emmaus High School
- Plans to attend Penn State Main Campus in State College, Pennsylvania or Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida as a full-time student
- Plans to study political science, pre-law, finance, nursing, or general liberal arts
- Academic achievement in high school
- Community involvement
- Citizenship
- Financial need
- Applicants may be asked to interview with representatives of the David M. Kleppinger Family Scholarship Fund advisory committee.
- Essay
- Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Answer the following question, “What brought me to decide to study my major at this institution?” 300 words maximum.
Renewability
Recipients of this scholarship may apply again for any subsequent year. Students must submit a full application but may be prompted to complete a different essay.
