Criteria
- Student must be a graduating senior of Steelton-Highspire High School planning to continue formal education at a four-year college or university
- One award will be for a senior with outstanding ability and performance in a sport
- One award will be for a senior with interest, participation and involvement with sports
- Academic Achievement
- Student should contain personal traits or characteristics reminiscent of Joseph C. Shevock – such as character, sense of values and purpose and perseverance
- Financial need
- Interview
- Essay
- Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Renewability
This scholarship will automatically renew for up to 4 years provided that the student maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA and continues to have financial need. Student must submit their transcript and tuition bill each semester for renewal of the award.
