Operation Wildcat Scholarship Fund

Operation Wildcat was formed in 2006 to pool the resources in the community to help school district students and families in need. In honor of our 10 year anniversary, Operation Wildcat established this scholarship fund. The scholarship is for any student enrolled in the Mechanicsburg Area School District, planning on attending a 4 year school, 2 year school or trade school post high school graduation, full time, having a minimum 2.5 GPA, involved in community service and demonstrates a financial need. (Two winners will be selected in Spring of 2023).

This scholarship is a fund of the Mechanicsburg Area Community Foundation, a regional foundation of TFEC.

Scholarship FAQ

Criteria

  1. Graduating senior from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School 
  2. Plans to attend an institute of higher education as a full-time student 
  3. Student can demonstrate community involvement 
  4. Minimum 2.5 GPA 
  5. Financial need 
  6. Essay
  7. Supplemental documents. This may include a resume, letter(s) of recommendation, transcript, FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), or other scholarship-specific documents. Specific requirements are noted in the application.

Essay

In what ways have you served your community?  How have these experiences impacted you or defined who you are as an individual and how will you continue to serve in the future? Minimum 200 words, maximum 500 words.  

Renewability

This scholarship will automatically renew for *up to four years provided the recipient remains a full-time student in good academic standing.

Students must submit their transcript and tuition bill EACH SEMESTER for renewal of the award.

Should the GPA requirement not be met, the student will be placed on probation. Failure to regain the required GPA after one academic semester will result in the loss of the scholarship.
