Harrisburg, PA (December 9, 2020) The Fund for Women & Girls annual grantmaking meeting looked slightly different this year. Aside from the virtual nature of all of our meetings these days, the Fund for Women & Girls grantmaking committee had five $20,000 grants to award.
In honor of the Fund for Women & Girls 20th Anniversary, this initiative raised $100,000 to grant five $20,000 innovative, change-making grants to nonprofit organizations seeking to transform women’s education, economic opportunity, and access to health wellness for decades to come.
The following is a list of grant recipients that were each awarded $20,000 for their project:
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Harrisburg – Empowering Women for Success Project
Christ the King Deaf Church – DeafCAN! – for Launching Deaf Bhutanese Women & Girls in Growing Relocated Community in Central PA
Employment Skills Center – ASPIRE-Plus: Empowering Women and Girls Through Education and Training
LGBT Community Center Coalition of Central PA – GLO Harrisburg: A Safe Space for Transgender Women & Girls of Color
The Sexual Assault Resource & Counseling Center of Lebanon & Schuylkill Counties – From Margin to Center: Community-Based Programs for Underserved Women and Girls
